My favourite xbox360 game - and general favourite game across all platforms - is one called Tenchu Z; where you are a ninja from a small country called Goda. Your mission is to defend Goda from the larger and inevitably evil Ogawara by undertaking various missions of assassination, espionage and damage control.
There's a lot of running around killing generic enemy-types with all your ultimate ninja skills.
So: I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting a relatively traditional ninja/samurai roleplay. Please note 'traditional' rather than 'Naruto' ninjas; the ninja eqspecial abilities I had in mind were all
vaguely plausible, based of those available in the Tenchu Z game.
These include:
- the grappling hook for ascending to the rooftops
- uber-skilled usage of ninja weaponry; blades, shuriken and bows and arrows
- ninja explosives; pinwheels, old-fashioned grenades and boom boxes
- booby traps; coltrops (pointy things to scatter over the ground), poisoned rice balls, gin traps
- specialist items; fire-breathing (scrolls? With something flammable in them), smoke bombs, flash bombs
There's also the impersonation skills and others; just none of Naruto's chakra-based control over the elements etc.
